We have fond memories, and thank the Secrets staff for giving it their all. I could go on, but in short, we tipped the staff generously in good times and bad, and did not allow the blemishes to otherwise distract us from a wonderful respite from a maddening world. I needed to remind hotel management almost everyday to replenish the beer in my room fridge. Special food orders, for example, a dish without cheese, might result in a 30 minute delay at the Marketplace restaurant.

We overheard other diners expressing the same sentiments, so. We were served beef masquerading as lamb at the French restaurant on our last evening. we waited two hours for fish tacos in the Oceana restaurant one day at lunch. There is an abundant supply of Hobiecats, kayaks and paddle boards, never had to wait. Kudos to housekeeping! Finally, on the bravo side, I believe the food is simply the best overall I've had at a hotel, anywhere on the planet - and I've worked in 70 countries. Our room exceeded our expectation, and was thoroughly serviced daily. The coffee shop - Coco's is a solid silver medal. Room service was amazing - prompt and fresh. We experienced consistent, excellent beach service - food and drinks were easy to order and arrived reasonably prompt. The service is wildly uneven, bordering on hilarious. We have made six, 1-week visits to Cozumel, at four properties over the years, so we have some perspective. My partner & I stayed in an Ocean View Room for 1-week (May 15-22, 2021).
